Dr. Helané Wahbeh is a naturopathic physician and clinician researcher focused on complementary and alternative medicine, specifically mind-body medicine research. She completed her undergraduate degree of Anthroplogy and Pre-Medicine at University of California Berkeley and received her clinical doctorate at the National College of Natural Medicine. She obtained her Master of Clinical Research from Oregon Health & Science University. She has been the principal investigator of multiple research studies examining the efficacy and mechanism of mindfulness meditation including VET MIND, a clinical research study funded by National Institute of Health National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine. She has published numerous papers on related topics such as synthesizing the evidence for complementary and alternative medicine, specifically mind-body medicine, the field of mindfulness meditation, physiological measures in people with posttraumatic stress disorder, the intersection of posttraumatic stress disorder and mindfulness meditation, and the evaluation and treatment of dementia caregivers. She has completed the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Teacher Training by Jon Kabat-Zinn and a four-year Meditation Teacher Training with Corelight. She has also practiced meditation regularly for 14 years.
